Re: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Eclipse Glasses
Hey Rich (and other Utah County folks), Do you think it would be worth it to have an Eclipse party at Harmon's on the 10th? dave -----Original Message----- From: Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 07:54:21 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Eclipse Glasses #14 Welder's glass works great (what I use). Does anybody know of a local (Salt Lake) source for eclipse veiwing glasses? If I can, I'd like to pick a few. I'm considering getting some welding helmet lenses as an alternative; I think I can get those at a place like Wasatch Metals.

How's the western horizon from Harmons? The sun will be getting low in the west at eclipse time, so you'll need an unobstructed site. C. --- David Moulton <dmoulton@myrealbox.com> wrote:

Sounds like a decent idea; can you (or someone that lives close by) check out what the western horizion looks like at about 7:30pm from the parking lot? I'm working in SLC these days and may be a bit late gettting there... -Rich --- David Moulton <dmoulton@myrealbox.com> wrote:

That might be a good idea. Would you want publicity about it? Or, do you think harmon's would be swamped??? jim --- David Moulton <dmoulton@myrealbox.com> wrote:

Which Harmons is being discussed here? Midvale or Provo/Orem? I understand USA is doing one for the eclipse at the traditional SLAS Harmons in Midvale. Patrick Jim Stitley wrote:

Jim, This particular thread was started by folks down here in Utah County; the Harmons being discussed is at 800 North and 800 East in Orem. Don't know if anything is planned for the Midvale Harmons... -Rich --- Jim Stitley <sitf2000@yahoo.com> wrote:

Rich, I didn't know of this Harmons store. I only ever saw the one that is usually used for all the sun parties listed on the yellow cards handed out a few meetings ago. It lists the Harmons at 7755 S and 700 E as location for all the regular Harmon's Sun & Star party. Thanks for the clarification, but I suspect others are probably confused too. Appreciate the feedback. Jim --- Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:
