A couple of shots I got today of Frisco Peak and the U's observatory. patrick http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/FRISCOPEAK.JPG http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/FRISCOOBSERVATORY.JPG
Excellent, Patrick. -- I thought they were going to be posting more astrophotos from the observatory. Does anyone know if that's happened? -- Thanks, Joe ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: utah astronomy listserve utah astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, December 25, 2011 10:26 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Frisco Peak Observatory A couple of shots I got today of Frisco Peak and the U's observatory. patrick http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/FRISCOPEAK.JPG http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/FRISCOOBSERVATORY.JPG _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php

They posted some here but I don't see any information on when they were taken: http://www.physics.utah.edu/weo/weoastrophoto.html#thumb patrick

Patrick, is not the Eagle Nebula (3rd photo down on the left) not mislabeled? Looks like the Horsehead? 73, lh On 12/25/2011 10:41 PM, Patrick Wiggins wrote:

Wasn't the SLAS working with the U to make the site available to club members? I remember some talk about a possible bunkhouse, outhouse, and concrete pads for portable scope set-up. Where did that lead? I don't even see an access road. Nice shots, Patrick.
Last I heard the offer is still there but it's contingent on the access road being made passable by "normal" vehicles. There is a road but 4-wheel drive is required and the road tends to tear up tires. patrick On 26 Dec 2011, at 11:02, Chuck Hards wrote:

A parking area adjacent to the observing site would be nice, as well. Most amatuers need their vehicles next to their telescopes. If it's contingent on access road improvements (who would pay for the grading?), I don't see this going anywhere, anytime soon. Sigh. On 12/26/11, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:
