Thanks for posting Rich. I didn't realize the aggressive nature of the mission and it looks like they are going to succeed on all points. The lander is icing on the cake so to speak. Amazing that humans can envision, plan, build and do this. We will all get to be a fly on the wall from start to perhileon. Note also the countdown for New Horizon has begun as well. Launched 2 years after Rosetta, New Horizon will fly by Pluto in July 2015. It should be a fascinating year for all of us as these two spacecraft "go where no one has gone before." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Tenney via Utah-Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> To: "Utah-Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com>, "UVAA" <uvaa@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, August 8, 2014 11:06:02 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Rosetta comet images In case you were asleep yesterday... http://www.skyandtelescope.com/astronomy-news/rosetta-catches-comet-08062014... also: https://www.facebook.com/EarthSky/photos/a.61619521852.81951.36709031852/101...
