Hey, who else used their Chuck Hards solar scopes yesterday? Mine worked PERFECT and gave up some outstanding pictures! -- Chrismo I fix things, all kinds of things... (801) 897-9075
Thank you Chuck! I believe I was one of the few with a solar scope in the Kanarra creek trail-head parking lot, and I got a few curious bystanders to have a look and they were always floored. Here are a few photos including my best double eclipse sunset between the Earth and moon shot through my SunSpotter using a 14mm Explore Scientific eyepiece with a handheld point and shoot digital camera. What a wonderful telescope for the sun! The sunspots were about twice as sharp visually than as they seem in the photo. https://plus.google.com/photos/110282538250100526740/albums/5745603770907613... In case anyone forgot, Chuck is currently off the list per this message from last month. patrick On 25 Apr 2012, at 11:25, Chuck Hards wrote:
Just a note to let folks know that I have disabled my utah-astronomy deliveries for a few weeks. I am still subscribed, but will not be receiving list messages. 50-60 hour work weeks for the next month or so simply won't allow me the time or energy to read through them. I will still be checking my non-list email periodically, so if you need to contact me and don't have my phone number, email me at: chuckhards@yahoo.com
My SLAS email goes to the yahoo address, so I'll still be in the club loop.
I should be turning-on list messages again in about 4 to 6 weeks. If you have a L&O meeting, please let me know at the yahoo address or call me. Thanks!
Have fun!

BTW, if anyone's up for a laugh, check out THIS album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4130511340522.2181369.1215656729&t... These were all taken through my dob and a Chuck Hards scope, using a CELLPHONE. Some of these shots would pass for much better and more sophisticated equipment! Wow, thank YOU Chris, Ian, and everyone who picked-up a Sunspotter! It really is a good feeling to know that those little scopes got put to good use. I was reading on Jay's blog that he and his kids used his Sunspotter for the eclipse as well. Coincidentally, I just turned my mail back on last night. A month of long work days, weeks, problems with mom, etc., is just about over and I can return to some semblance of a normal life this weekend. June looks to be busy too but it shouldn't involve the long work weeks. On Wed, May 23, 2012 at 6:14 AM, Chrismo <djchrismo@gmail.com> wrote:
