Re: [Utah-astronomy] St. George trips
Dave, I hope we have a warm spell this year after Christmas. During the 2002 Olympics, temperatures were in the balmy 50s in mid-February. I'm still going to buy some more hand warmers for this winter. The Fornax galaxy cluster is always a good target that time of year. NGC 1097 is also a good barred spiral galaxy in Fornax. It's also an Arp galaxy. Debbie ---- David Dunn <david.dunn@albertsons.com> wrote:
OAS is planning a couple of trips to the St. George area this winter. The last couple of times, we have gone to the Fort Pierce area. This year we are looking at 1/19 & 1/20 and 2/16 & 2/17. We usually either sleep in our vehicles or get a motel room. Last year Doug Say took is powered parachute and flew it around a bit during the day. If anyone wants to join us for this activity, they are welcome. If you do plan to join with us, let me know so that if plans change, we can communicate with you.
Debbie, hopefully we will be able to meet up again and do some observing together. I wanted to make sure that anyone that wanted to come would also know about it this year.
Thanks,
David Dunn
