Okay, MOTHER IS HERE, TIME OUT !!! . (Sorry Rich, I can't take it any more) This board has a lot of members (maybe a few less after this thread and that is really too bad) , many of whom DO NOT know one another and that is GREAT!!!! This board does exactly what it is supposed to do, brings people with an interest in astronomy together from vari ous points of the globe, with a variety of work and educational backgrounds, experiences, talents, skills and opinions. By discussion, we all grow and change. We may not agree with one another no matter how vehemently we argue our points, but that is OKAY!. Its human nature. It's America, we are entitled to our opinions and we have the extreme privilege of free speech and the ability to express those opinions. We are all adults (I think - not sure on that one) I consistantly marvel as to how a subject like "astronomy" can bring together accountants, financers, engineers, teachers, geologists, physisists, busness owners, cashiers and others together under it's umbrella. The variety of these backgrounds enrich the community. Please, Please. Please. Let this be the last post on this thread.
Should have known you'd defy mother! But mother is duly impressed - for those who don't know Chuckie's word - Meaning: A tempest in a teacup, a mountain made of a molehill, a federal case, a very big deal. Oops, think mother got the last word in edgewise :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Hards" <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, June 5, 2014 12:49:07 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Cosmos2 No way, Joan, I want the last word! Batrachomyomachia or the Battle of Frogs and Mice is a comic epic or parody of the Iliad, definitely attributed to Homer by the Romans, but according to Plutarch the work of Pigres of Halicarnassus, the brother of Artemisia, queen of Caria and ally of Xerxes. I resent the implication that I might be a mouse. I am most definitely a frog and very proud of it. DT From: CenturyLink Customer <jcarman6@q.com>
