Re: [Utah-astronomy] Java astro apps/Bluetooth
The app I'd like for my cell phone is something that I could dial! I hate those little buttons. But I'm too vain to buy one with great big buttons for old guys. -- Joe --- On Sun, 4/26/09, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote: From: Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Java astro apps/Bluetooth To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Sunday, April 26, 2009, 8:24 PM This one could come in handy: http://rbytes.net/mobile/compass-for-java-review/ _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com
My Blackberry has voice recognition software that allows a number to be "dialed" by simply telling it which person to call. No buttons to push! I'm sure there are other makes and models out there that do the same. --- On Sun, 4/26/09, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:

That's a good idea for Joe, and phones a lot less capable than crackberries have it. Of course, it means you have to enter it into your address book first, so it's not an option for a one-time call. I just found and ordered a Bluetooth transmitter that attaches to my iPod, thus eliminating the cord altogether- which I find is constantly getting snagged when I'm listening to it while working. Combined with stereo Bluetooth headphones, this may work well. So nobody's using Bluetooth at the telescope to eliminate all those USB and phone-style cables? All you'd need to keep are power cables, theoretically. On Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 11:53 AM, Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:
