The Mysterious Arc of Venus
This will give us another thing to look for during the transit tomorrow. The Mysterious Arc of Venus http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/04jun_arcofvenus/ Happily the weather forecast for SLC continues to improve. Even the projected winds have come down a bit. Regarding the wind, once 1st and 2nd contacts are behind us I'm going to try moving inside and viewing through those huge picture windows they have at the museum. Yeah, looking through windows is usually a bad idea (double entendres aside) but for the Sun and a spot the size of Venus maybe it'll work. patrick
I'm still getting 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 from the south, winds to 60 mph while front passes. The good news is that perhaps the front will pass before the transit begins but that may mean more clouds and winds still 20-30 from the north. Be prepared is all I am saying, Checking out the Museum will be worth the trip.

Test it out today, or have you already? Actually, if the glass is decent and you don't have air currents in front of you, you should be ok. Will that inside location be free to the public? On Jun 4, 2012 3:11 PM, "Patrick Wiggins" <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Yes. I will only set up in the free area.
