This reminds of a story, a bit unrelated, that John Dobson told a few of us when he was in SLC years ago. The story took place in the late 80's, as I recall. He was on the Navajo reservation doing a star party at one of the reservation schools, observing the Moon. He explained to a couple of high-school age girls that we know that the Moon is composed of the same stuff as the Earth. One of them asked, "Well how do we know that?" He replied that when the Apollo astronauts were on the Moon they collected rock samples that consist of the same minerals as Earth. The girls looked at him, incredulously, and one asked, "Do you mean that people have been on the Moon?" I don't share that to ridicule anyone; it's just a fact of life that not everyone has the same educational experiences that most of us take for granted. The story goes (though I've not been able to confirm it) that the guy tried to sue but the case was tossed with the judge saying he deserved the punch. patrick
From Bart Sibrel's wikipedia page: -------------- Most astronauts have refused to grant him interviews. The most infamous incident involved Apollo 11 crew member Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon. According to Aldrin, he was lured to a Beverly Hills hotel under the pretext of an interview on space for a Japanese children's television show. When he arrived, Aldrin claims Sibrel was there demanding that he swear on a Bible that he had walked on the moon. When Aldrin refused, Sibrel called him a "coward", a "liar", and a "thief".[1] An exasperated Aldrin punched Sibrel in the jaw, which was recorded. Sibrel later attempted to use the tape to convince police and prosecutors that he was the victim of an assault. However, it was decided that Aldrin had been provoked, and (based on Sibrel's unfazed, nearly instant reaction to his camera man) did not actually injure Sibrel, and no charges were filed. Many talk show hosts aired the clip, making Sibrel the butt of jokes.[2] Sibrel said later that he wrote a letter of apology to Aldrin.[3] -------------- Dan On Jul 14, 2011, at 3:26 PM, Patrick Wiggins wrote:

Thanks Joe, after watching that video I’ll dare say that the one punch wasn’t enough, but then again, seems like Sibrel has some kind of fetish for getting beat up by astronauts like this other video shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTUaZl6Nyho&feature=related On 2011-07-14 17:26, Kim wrote:

I remember a RTMC when Harrison Schmidt (last man to step off the moon )was the featured speaker, even in that crowd the hoax question came up.
