Guy, could I prevail upon you to enlighten us on dovetail standards for reflex sights? I noticed that the Guide Gear sight uses a much wider dovetail than the Gamo, Orion, and Mars-eye. Chuck You'll have to get the proper dovetail from Burgess Optical http://www.burgessoptical.com/Accessories/MRFBase.html Two types a flat base w/dovetail grove ($9) and a taller dovetail that is the flat dovetail double sided taped to another thicker dovetail section (Orion/Vixen style $12). The Vixen style offers both bases if needed, just remove the flat dovetail from the assembly and is more price effective. Aloha Rob
Yup, that looks like the way to go. Though I would prefer it be one piece rather than using double sided tape. Of course you could always screw the two together. Quoting Rob Ratkowski <ratkwski@hawaii.rr.com>:

Both types of dovetails already have holes drilled for mounting but do not line up, I considered removing the tape and using an epoxy or super glue but found that the tape is secure and doesn't affect alignment. From the Burgess photo it appeared that the large dovetail was a single milled or extruded unit, I was surprised to see it as a taped unit. Oh well ......... Aloha RR
Sure. The reflex sights used for rifles are made to fit the Piccatinny type sight rail. These are more popularly reffered to as "Weaver" style mounts. The "Standard" rail measures .840 inch width. A smaller .22 tip off type dovetail mount is sometimes used and measures .5 inch at it's width. I have material in both sizes should anyone needs any. Quoting Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com>:
