I'm back on the list, sorry I had to take about a month off. I still am not in a position to reply quickly but can at least read emails more regularly. Hope you've all had a great time under the stars so-far this summer, lots of warm weather and dark nights ahead!
And you are who again? :) Dan -- Sent from my iPhone. Please pardon any mispelings or errors. On Jun 26, 2013, at 11:40 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:

Lol, sometimes I'm not sure myself. My wife had surgery in May (she's doing great now), and I'm now running a department at work solo- formerly staffed by 5 of us. I've had my hands full, doing 18-20 hour days. Still going to be rough for at least another month but I can come up for air once in a while now. I've got a white-light solar filter for the 8" refractor at SPOC almost complete, hopefully I can deliver that to the club soon. Did a star party last night (solo) for a group of scouts up at Payson Lakes in a meadow near loop 'B' at about 8,000 feet (ideal). Anyone else observed from up there? The sky was fantastic last night, and it's just under an hour's drive from my home in Lindon. The star clouds in Sagittarius were especially lovely. /R
I was out and about. I did a star party for family in menan Idaho. The sky was very good and I had nothing but comments like: are you kidding me, that can't be Saturn, no way. Doing it again tonight for the other half of family here. Mark Sent from my iPhone On Jun 27, 2013, at 9:35 AM, Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:

The sky was beautiful at Kolob Reservoir. Our scouts had a great time looking through my refractor. However, it was a bit windy which has been the story all summer. I could only push the power to 100X. I want to take the 15" Obsession when I get a good night. It is tough to do both star gazing and fishing on the same day though.
