In checking out this potential comet at sunset and sunrise, it looks like it will be too close to nautical twilight to observe. It may be worth checking out at its predicated brightest between 10/31 through 11/4/2007 for sunset only. I have added a sunset chart for the ten day period after 10/31 to the utah asto wiki site. http://www.utahastronomy.com/Current_observing_events#C.2F2007_F1_Loneos But, it looks like we have Christmas-New Year's comet 8/P Tuttle that will also rise to a naked eye mag. 5 between the Mars opposition on Dec. 19 through maximum brightness on Jan. 5, 2008. 8/P Tuttle is returning after 207 years and pass the Earth just outside the Earth's orbit (at about 0.25 au). Between Christmas and New Year's it will rapidly descend near the zenith at alf Cas to alf Psc. It will be well positioned at good altitudes at 8:00pm each night. - Kurt _______________________________________________ Sent via CSolutions - http://www.csolutions.net
