Joe- couldn't open the page. Anyway, even "so-so" photo efforts are worth sharing for critiques. And, I admire anyone who can do something I can't. Did you receive my email about the MARSpectacular at the Mars Society's Mars Dersert Research Station near Hanksville at the end of the month? At the same time, I'll be retrieving the NexStar 11GPS that Celestron has donated for our accessible scope - thought you might like to do a story... -----Original Message----- From: Joe Bauman [mailto:bau@desnews.com] Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 7:00 AM To: Visit http://www.utahastronomy.com for the photo gallery. Subject: [Utah-astronomy] OK Mars picture Dear Friends, I want to send this note to the group to undo a little of my embarrassment. Through some production error a view of Mars that I took Saturday morning was printing wrong in the paper -- it was blown up so big that the grain of the negative overwhelmed the detail, and it was not flipped as I had ask that I should be. So I have put a better version of it on the gallery that Cyn established. It is the second one in it. Hi, somehow the astronomy gallery seems to be temporarily down. But one of the paper's on-line editors kindly fixed the photo on the Internet version of my story so now it looks OK there. It's just the print version that's awful. Try this URL for the story and photo: http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,510044651,00.html Best wishes, Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
