Gravel Quarry Saturday the 5th
Is anyone thinking of going to the Gravel Quarry on Saturday the 5th? I know Wolf Creek is scheduled for that weekend, but due to on-going health issues, I can't do an overnight trip, so I was just checking to see if anyone else might be there that night. Thanks! Ann, What time are you planning to return, since you're not doing an overnighter? The reason I ask is that I might go and I think Cory would like to see a few things, but my Jeep doesn't fit anyone else when I have it packed with my astronomy stuff. Is there any way she could hitch a ride with you if you're going? Also, if I went, would anybody be offended by my generator puttering away and my computer screen alight (although red, to protect night vision)? Just a thought and please let me know if I'm being way too presumptious. Best wishes, Joe PS: I had planned to go to the Wedge tomorrow night, so if that is not an option, or the moon is too awful Saturday night, do not feel bad at all! --- On Wed, 7/2/08, Ann Blanchard <a.blanchard@ugs.utah.edu> wrote: From: Ann Blanchard <a.blanchard@ugs.utah.edu> Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Gravel Quarry Saturday the 5th To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 3:06 PM Is anyone thinking of going to the Gravel Quarry on Saturday the 5th? Ann, Connie had sinus surgery today and we aren't going too far from home. Assuming she is doing well, I would be very interested in going to the gravel pit on Saturday night. I was sorry to hear that you had to cancel on Bryce this year. It was very good. Friday night was the clearest most transparent skies I have ever observed through. It was great. Let me know what your plans are for Saturday night. I'm afraid I broke the prime directive that applies to all husbands: consult with the boss first! It turns out Cory can't go after all, so I don't need to beg a ride for her. Instead, I'll probably head to the Wedge tomorrow night. Wish me luck -- I finally have my guider working. And I'll be using the wonderful rig Guy built for me. -- Joe

Sorry she won't be there, but like you, when Craig and I are in the front seats, the scope and gear fills up the rest of the car, so we couldn't fit in another person either. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Joe Bauman Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2008 6:42 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Gravel Quarry -- oops I'm afraid I broke the prime directive that applies to all husbands: consult with the boss first!
