Here at SDL we had a big celebration for Pi day. The company brought in more than 50 pies from Village Inn, we had a digits of Pi contest (the winner had it to 330 decimal places), there was a math contest related to Pi, Pi Ku (think haiku), etc. So we had a good old time with our favorite irrational number. We also had an Albert Einstein lookalike contest since that is also Einstein's birthday. I've personally celebrated International Pi Day for about the past ten years or so. Clear skies, Dale. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Ed Sent: Saturday, March 22, 2014 1:13 PM To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] This guy really likes Pi Day Too bad, the reporter, Jim Moore, couldn't get it right in the very first sentence of his article :-( Ed ---------------------------------- Quoting Wiggins Patrick <paw@getbeehive.net>:

Along those lines Chuck, for those that missed out on things March 14th, it is "technically" Pi month ALL month long because this is 3/14. I think that magically the calories don't count this year. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Chuck Hards Sent: Monday, March 24, 2014 10:15 AM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] This guy really likes Pi Day Next year you should really have a big bash.
