Thanks for the link Chuck. Excellent article. If there are any beginners on this board, they will learn a lot from it. Sig - who sells the radians? It sounds like an excellent eyepiece for the refractor. P.S. there was a real question mark typed into this post. Can somone explain why my posts are deluged in random question marks? It's way past "cute".

I don't remember seeing posts with lots of question marks. Could you forward me a copy of one so I can investigate? Thanks, patrick
Sounds like some kind of computer flaw, maybe a mail program not translating symbols correctly. ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, January 27, 2012 12:38 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Eyepiece Selection (question marks?) Joan; Radians are an eyepiece model of Tele Vue. I have the 6mm version and I've been happy with it. As with most Tele Vue products, Radians are a little pricey. BTW, I don't see random questions marks in your post. I've bought a few from Bill Cowles at Inkleys.

I think Inkley's is done with astronomy. Last I looked they were closing things out. I think Steve Fisher bought a bunch of it. Sig On Sat, Jan 28, 2012 at 9:44 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

Perhaps they would be willing to deal on TeleVue inventory.

Every on-line TV dealer has the same price on Radians, $240. The only break I found was that some offer free shipping, others want to tack another five to ten bucks on there. I also found it interesting that nobody is currently stocking the 18mm version. Did TV drop it from the line? On Sat, Jan 28, 2012 at 12:02 PM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

It does appear that Tele Vue has discontinued the 18mm Radian. Here's a quote from the OPT website: "This item is not available from the manufacturer and OPT is out of stock."

Here's a terrific review of many popular eyepiece designs. The author has done extensive side-by-side comparisons. Since he's primarily a planetary observer, wide-field is low on his list of desireable attributes. http://theastroreview.com/index.php?document_id=130&product_id=5
Daniel Mounsey, the author of that review and also known as "Dr. D", is the guy I deal with at Woodland Hills. He is indeed very knowledgeable. sig On Thu, Feb 2, 2012 at 9:57 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
