Photo taken by Bob Fisher Friday night at the gravel pit. There were quite a few people there. It's a time exposure so the light bump from Provo is amplified. Actually, a great night, Milky Way from horizon to horizon. http://s1245.photobucket.com/user/joancarman/media/DSC00967.jpg.html?filters[user]=128257598&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Hope the link works, don't post pictures very often.
Joan, Where were those with the red rock overlook taken? Looks like a nice spot. On Mon, Sep 22, 2014 at 12:03 PM, Joan Carman <jcarman6@q.com> wrote:

Not sure what you mean by "red rock overlook." This picture was taken at the gravel pit, see reply to Rich. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Siegfried Jachmann" <siegfried@jachmann.org> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, September 22, 2014 1:29:50 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Not a Selfie Joan, Where were those with the red rock overlook taken? It's taken over night, but I think I know which pictures you mean. On my photobucket site? Me, my C-8 and three people? If that is what you are thinking of, it was Cedar Breaks lookout, just outside of Cedar City. Taken at the Ring Eclipse in May a few years ago. You and many others were in Kanarraville. There was a good group of people at the lookout, probably Bryce Canyon National Park as well :). The National Park Service had opened the site just for the eclipse and access was free (normally a charge). On the drive to the lookout, there were LOTS of people, many with telescopes, spread out over the area, particularly from Brianhead to the site - remember the canyon road from Cedar City to the lookout was closed due to a massive land slide. The only other access was through Parawan, through Brianhead to the lookout. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Siegfried Jachmann" <siegfried@jachmann.org> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2014 12:21:17 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Not a Selfie Those pictures are gone.
