Re: [Utah-astronomy] Unistellar Optics demo
There is a March 2016 article in S&T about video observing using the Mallincam video/camera/eyepiece or the like. It projects a layered image to a computer or TV screen in real time, constantly updating so that you are able to see colors of nebulae and fainter objects. Is this Unistellar Optics product the same thing? I am still thinking about what telescope to buy, and whether video observing might be the amateur observing of the future. If so, I need a telescope that will allow me to track well enough to have this gadget work. However, the pictures in the March S&T are not as good as a well-made photo, so I don't know about the trade-off with direct observing. Has anybody on this list tried video observing, and with what? and how satisfying was it? best regards, Marlene Egger
