Re: [Utah-astronomy] Overwhelmed
Here is my frustration with this site and it could be related to the problem of these late posts. I had to go all the way up to Patrick post to get a response window to open. Sometimes the response is posted. Sometimes ii doesn't. Thanks Jo for the compliment but it assumes I had any marbles to begin with. Save them for me if you find them. Btw, there is another post from last night that hasn't made it through. Expect to see it next year some time. Sig On 2010-10-07 04:35, Patrick Wiggins wrote:
Just to clarify. Siegfried did not send the initial "Overwhelmed" message tonight. He also did not send the one about the Moon tonight. Both message did *post* tonight but he did not *send* them tonight. Instead he sent them long ago. Why they posted tonight is a mystery.
Posts to UA have been delayed before but tonight's two instances have
set a record.

Siegfried,
If you want to see what happened on a thread from the past, go to http://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/list/utah-astronomy.en.html
At the top of the page, you can enter a time and a date. (The time
is not important for your purposes.) This will allow you to follow a thread, month by month, to its long past conclusion... No need to resurrect, or ask questions about, threads that died eons ago.

I'm reminded of the postal system in Italy where I served as an LDS missionary. For example, in 1984 a letter from a government office arrived at its final destination in Rome. It had been posted from an office two blocks away...in 1943. Ciao Kim! I also served in Italy '92-'94, the mail improved a bit over there I only had 5 or 6 letters arrive out of sequence from home, however my letters to home were almost always out of order or bunched together. We'll just use these old posts as bonus time capsules of our astronomy experiences... ;-) Howard On Thu, Oct 7, 2010 at 10:26 AM, Kim <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:
