RATS! I slept right through Patrick's call last night telling me about the aurora! A few hours before I had worn myself out trying to push my little Suzuki when its transmission burned up -- even though it's little, I couldn't push it uphill to get it turned around and let it coast back down 17th South. Anyway, I was so exhausted I slept through his most welcome call and only heard the message when I awoke around dawn. So now I can't write a firsthand account of the auroras. Can you all help me, those who were lucky enough to go out last night? Would you send me a few lines of your impressions, so I can include some quotes in an article? Many thanks, Joe
Hi Tom, Could you post a few here? Thanks, Jiom Thomas Sevcik <sfv1ts@hotmail.com> wrote: Greetings everyone! My son and I just got back from Big Mountain after seeing one fantastic light show in the north. It first started out as a blue-greenish glow just below the bowl of the Big Dipper about 1 a.m. But shortly after it started to climb, rays sprouted out here and there, in green and red colors. I took nearly 30 exposures of the different phases over an hour's span. Hope others didn't miss out!
