Good picks. You've jogged my memory. This year I saw glob Omega Centauri (NGC 5139) from central-southern Utah. That would be my "bagged it" pick of the year - a glob as big as the full Moon. \I am down in So Ut for the holidays and have been out imaging tonight. I started out with the eastern veil and then moved on to the flaming star. I hadn't planned on being down here before the 15th and totally spaced the Geminids. After seeing two bright blue fireballs that left nice trails across the sky, I remembered the best meteor show of the year is tonight...time to bust out the camera lens and try to shoot the shooters.
