Patrick, I actually kinda liked this latest Pan-STARRS pic... And Chuck, I agree completely about the image of the comet near Andromeda. On APOD I was surprised to learn that Pan-STARRS is currently the largest object in our solar system...pretty incredible to try and imagine! I wish someone could get a shot looking back at the solar system so the true scale of it could be appreciated. ~Kelly

The seeing seems very good this evening but I'm only barely able to see Pan-STARRS in 10x50s.

Kelly, as big as the comet is, the solar system is even bigger. Earth isn't that far from it right now, relatively speaking, and look how small it appears in our sky. If the camera were only as far away as the orbit of Jupiter, PanSTARRS would be the tiniest of smudges. Much further than that, and you wouldn't be able to spot the comet at all. Space is BIG! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buqtdpuZxvk On Wed, Apr 3, 2013 at 8:21 AM, Kelly Ricks <kellyalenericks@gmail.com>wrote:

It doesn't get much more profound than this. Hey, I have that tune on my iPod. Besides being profound, it's a toe-tapper. ;-) On Wed, Apr 3, 2013 at 11:24 AM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:

Thanks Kelly, I've got a crew of guys working out back trimming trees including the one I'm having to shoot through to get the Pan-STARRS pictures I've gotten so far. I told them to "do no harm" to the trees. Just to trim them. So provided they can get the tree trimmed enough I may be able to get better shots. patrick On 03 Apr 2013, at 08:21, Kelly Ricks wrote:
