Eclipse times / appearance / view from U of U
In addition to times of the eclipse mentioned previously, http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/annulartimes.pdf , I've also put together a graphic showing how the eclipse will appear when at maximum from a number of different areas, http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/appearance.jpg . And for those who may not be on the U's email list here's something they sent out today about viewing the eclipse from the U's observatory on South Physics: +++++ Join us this weekend to see the Annular Solar Eclipse and a Star Party at the U of U observatory! Also, see the Robo Ute's Mars Rover Mission Control Center, and meet the students who created it. When: May 20, from 6 o'clock to 11 p.m. (Solar eclipse peak is approx. 7:30 p.m.) Where: South Physics Observatory, U of U campus (map: http://www.map.utah.edu/index.html?find=10) What: Solar telescopes and Solar Viewing Glasses will be available for viewing the eclipse. Faculty and staff will be on hand to assist. FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Bring the Family. More info: Call (801) 581-6901. Visit http://web.utah.edu/astro/. +++++ Somehow I've got a feeling it could get pretty crowded up there. Can't help but wonder how many people the roof will support. :) patrick
