Well, today is a rather ominous anniversary as we enter what has become known as space disaster week. This is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire which took the lives of Gus Grissom, Roger Chaffee and Ed White. Of course tomorrow is the 31st anniversary of the Challenger disaster and Wednesday, February 1st is the 14th anniversary of the Columbia breakup on re-entry which many of us OAS and SLAS members witnessed.
