Does anyone on the list have the hardware & software required to grab frames from 8mm video tape, then stack and process the final images? I have footage of comet SL-9 impacting Jupiter in the summer of '94, and would like to pull some still images from it before the videotape begins to deteriorate. I got this footage by making a bracket to hold my camcorder on the telescope, using eyepiece projection and HAND TRACKING at over 300X! I am still amazed when I recall those evenings, the view in the eyepiece and on the monitor. I just couldn't believe that the impacts were SO visible, and I got to see it in my lifetime. Dear Friends, If anybody has familiarity with the graphics of the new Clark Planetarium sky show vs. those of a traditional planetarium, could you please contact me off list? Thanks, Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
Brent Watson & Patrick Wiggins are the people you want to talk to. Patrick's off-list last I heard. C. --- Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:

Patrick probably isn't the one to talk to because he has some really strong feelings about the planetariums. Is or was Brent associated with either place? Thanks, Chuck -- Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
Patrick can tell you about the "Old style" projectors, whereas Brent did pioneering work on the Digistar system when he was with E&S. C. --- Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:

Joe, there is some kind of blanket organization that deals with the nuts & bolts of planetarium life. The name escapes me at the moment, but perhaps a Web search will turn them up. They even have a monthly newsletter, IIRC, & a not insubstantial membership. That may be a useful resource for you, too, but interview Brent for sure. C. --- Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com> wrote:
