It was the right call. It shows why we don't do star parties during the winter. It's hard to plan for anything during the winter months. When we obligate ourselves to another institution, like the MNH, we are just asking for egg on our collective faces. Sig On Mon, Mar 11, 2013 at 3:20 PM, Larry Holmes <larry@kijoda.com> wrote:
Hey, Joe, it is not anyones fault. The decision was made on the best info available at the time. I remember that I was told when I moved here that "if I did not like the weather, wait 15 minutes." 73 On 3/9/2013 3:08 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:
Hi Ann, I am personally sorry that we had to call it off; I instigated that after watching the weather carefully for days. I checked weather reports and all said this afternoon wasn't going to be good. I polled the other board members and we agreed it wasn't worth holding because of the likelihood that it would not be held. I sent notes explaining this to the entire SLAS membership. So it's mostly my fault and I am sorry. The weather fooled everybody. -- Joe
