Nice video. I was pleasantly surprised to hear them say the comet could still be good at month's end. Maybe we'll get to show it to the public after all at the next SPOC star party. patrick On 15 Mar 2013, at 17:13, Thomas Sevcik wrote:
Here's a very interesting video on Comet PanSTARRS I received today from Science @ NASA. About 53 seconds into the video there's an neat photo of what appears to be Japan's Mt. Fuji with the comet. At 2:07 into the video there's a time-lapse of the comet winking in-and-out between clouds, although I could see the comet through the clouds here on Tuesday night with my 8 x 40 binos (gaps in between clouds allowed for a naked eye view). Finally, what almost could of been filmed in Utah is shot similar to my view of the crescent Moon and the comet as they appeared over the Oquirrh Mountains from near the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Good narration about the comet with the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1cYfPrHoJw Tom Sevcik _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy
