-Hi, that is cool, what, and how often did you meet?
That was a LONG time ago, Bruce! I think we met in a classroom at least weekly (there were only four or five of us!) and we took out my scope a couple of times a month. I recall some winter mornings, getting up at 3 am, and walking two blocks to my friend's back yard, where he was already at the eyepiece of his 10-inch Essential Optics Newtonian. And we thought the light-pollution was bad THEN...
I thinking about bring my two telescopes some times and doing Power Point preset at ions other times or both at the same time. You thoughts on this thanks.
Depends on how enthusiastic your fellow clubbers are, but a flashy presentation and neat hardware will always grab somebody's attention! Don't forget daytime observing, sunspots are always cool; spotting VEnus in the daytime, etc. Apropos videos would be good, too. You could show "Cosmos" episodes, that would cover half the school year! Field trips, dark-sky sessions with parents (and/or girlfriends!), guest speakers, software demos, there's tons of stuff to keep a club occupied.
I see how soon i can come up with the money with my job, and saving money and all...
I'm about sold-out of parallelograms this time, but will be making more soon. Just email me when you're ready. Be looking for a tripod in the meantime. Those wooden ones on cheesy imported refractors work great...watch yard sales. That's how Rich and I got our tripods. Chuck __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
