The winds aloft must be ferocious this morning. I climbed up on my roof at 5:30 under perfectly clear skies. The only clouds were very low in the SW. In less than 10 minutes I could see the clouds were headed my way and by 5:47 they were at my zenith. As for the Aurigids, during the quarter hourI was able to observe I saw two shower members and one sporadic. As I was watching at the predicted peak, if the peak happened it didn't happen on time. Lovely sky, though. M-45, Mars, Orion and the Moon. Nice. Here's hoping others had better luck. patrick p.s.
