Mat, I have tried putting my green laser pointer under my arm pit to keep it warm. After I have done this, it doesn't look any brighter but it sure does look greener! Most of the cheapies weren't even visible unless you were dead-on-axis, standing right next to the laser. Not much good in a crowd. In very transparent air with little water vapor or suspended dust, you couldn't see a thing.
