I love NOVA! What an amazing program. I was very impressed with the graphics, and coverage of the developmental problems that they encountered, especially the parachute since I'm also an avid amateur model rocketeer and have had some first hand experiences with parachutes "shredding" with fast deployments. It was fun to see them use 'simple' fixes to the problem that I've had to use myself on occasions. Although I've found it much easier to use a sliding ring over the shroud lines to slow the chutes opening to be more effective than reinforcing the material,or altering the shape of the chute, of course size/weight limits on my rockets are nowhere near as tight as on an interplanetary probe. I was also impressed with how smoothly they added in the footage of the control room video and images from Mars, If I recall right an article in the Tribune yesterday (Saturday) mentioned that the producers were still waiting to see how the landing turned out, and had left 4 minutes of the show unfinished in order to make the ending as current as possible. I also heard that they would have updated images on the Tuesday showing, Well I guess I'll have to set the VCR since I'll be at work. This sure has been exciting!! Howard

NASA TV ran an ad earlier today saying they'd have coverage tonight at 8, 9 and 10 pm MST.
NASA TV's web site says nothing about those times and mentions coverage only at 8:30 and midnight.
