Depending on the caliber, it could just make it mad... My brother (when he was in the military) went bow hunting for bear. Mark, 40+ years ago a fellow idiot and I were bow hunting(for deer) at Wolf Creek. We saw a bear a long ways off. We decided to go after it. Luckily we never caught up to it. I hope you have the rifle loaded and your wife knows how to use it.
