Erik & friends, I measured 15 inches of snow on the roof of a house I was inspecting near the Tooele City Golf course at the mouth of Rose Canyon Wednesday evening and it was still coming down hard when I left, When I got home (600 yards from the Observatory) I had 9 inches and counting. As to the 6 inches in my yard this morning now down to 3 inches, most will likely melt today but I certainly wouldn't recommend driving on the lawn at the Observatory Saturday. The Observatory is at the lowest point of that entire park area and All the melt and rain water flows past us to the pond, very little penetrates the clay, most all that water runs between the clay and topsoil, the perfect recipe for deep damaging ruts to the park.At this writing there are pretty large areas of standing water south of the ball fields with about 3 inches of melting snow over 40 percent of our area, the ball fields are 80 percent snow covered ( thicker grass).I'll post an update as to the lawn conditions midday tomorrow. Weren't we supposed to get more precipitation tonight?Have a Happy,Roger --- On Fri, 4/2/10, erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net <erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net> wrote: From: erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net <erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net> Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Snow To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Friday, April 2, 2010, 11:42 AM
KUTV said Tooele received 20" due to "lake effect"
How much snow did Tooele receive?
I'd be really curious to find out who reported 20".

Hey Toolie folks , The news reported that the Tooele Valley got 20" of snow yesterday. Is this going to melt by saturdays SPOC Star Party?
