Hi all. Thanks for all the nice comments about the article in the Tribune yesterday.
I broke out the scope last night despite the bright moon. I decided to try a little narrowband imaging of the Owl Nebula, M97. I took lots of frames but had to throw away quite a few because of trailed stars. However, I did get 2 hours each of hydrogen alpha and OIII data, which I combined into a narrowband image. I used the OIII data for both the green and blue channels, and the Ha for the red channel. I was pleased that I managed to get just a hint of the larger outer shell, which is rarely imaged.
