Re: [Utah-astronomy] Pit n Pole for the Perseid Meteor Shower

Last night's party was a partial success.  Clouds made it rough for the dobsonian telescopes but we still had a good view of Saturn and a some summer Globulars though the holes.  Most of the night was spent sitting in chairs looking for the bright Perseids that managed to find the holes in the clouds.  Jay and Matt managed to bring along a small herd of teenages.  Some of us stayed until the Pleaides, Jupiter and the Moon rose.   On the ride home Venus was also seen.   A good time out of and away from the city.  Sometimes that's all that's really needed.   DT
