Chuck, I just used Permethrin for tick repellant on a trip to central Wyoming. The label claims that the stuff bonds to the fabrick and stays there for two or more washings. It specifically warned against too frequent application. I bought mine at Gart. I'm sure many places cary this. How well does it work? I don't usually get bitten by mosquitos anyway, so I can't speak to that. Brent --- Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com> wrote:
Thanks for the qualifier. I assume it washes out, and must be re-applied each time?

One other thing about Permanone. You have to treat the clothes and let them dry for 2 to 4 hours before wearing them. The chemicals that are used to apply permethrin are an irritant to skin and lungs. Once it is dry, it doesn't cause any problems. The main thing is that you can't just buy the stuff on the way to a star party and spray it on when you get there. You will need to apply it ahead of time.
