I'm in Casper (It was a great AstroCon, thanks SLAS!) and thus far the traffic has been somewhat lighter than expected by the locals. Are the reports of fuel outages verified or is the media reporting worst case scenarios? There are a number of people that I know who have decided not to go because someone told somebody else that there would be no gas, etc. Unless they are actually verified reports, I think the media is doing a disservice. I hope everyone wavering turns off the media and just goes! Just keeping checking 511 or traffic websites. Clear skies, Dale. Another thing to note: I have had reports that some towns are already out of fuel. We are taking a sub-compact car and five extra gallons of gas, which gives us sufficient fuel for the full round-trip, plus a 90 mile reserve. We don't plan on needing fuel while in Idaho.

I didn't make camping reservations, but maybe I can just hang out in a parking lot somewhere. I can't get into my observing location until 6 am.
