Well, if Chuck considers himself a marginal member and Michael says he's a "light to moderate member" I guess that makes me an obese member? LOL I like the idea of a reserve fund for SPOC. As for the remote robotic scope, I'd be hard pressed to go along with SLAS building one of those for the same reasons I long ago lost interest in a SLAS dark sky observatory. They include: 1) Security 2) Almost certain lack of use by most members 3) Inability of the membership to decide where it would be built 4) Cost to build. But now I have another reason to be against a SLAS remote robotic facility: 5) Both the U of U and Bryce are well along with plans and fund raising for such facilities of their own and initial discussions with both organizations have netted assurances that SLAS would have access to both facilities.
