This is why, in spite of books saying that the water droplets act like prisms, I think they act like a diffraction grating. You have the first and second order spectra visible. Each subsequent spectrum is reversed from the previous one. Prisms only show the first order spectrum. It takes gratings to show higher orders. Canopus56 wrote:

Nice rainbow pic, Patrick. One of the interesting parts of these double rainbows is that the order of the colors in the dimmer outer rainbow is reversed.
On the brighter rainbow to the right, the green is on the right. On the dimmer rainbow to the left near the dome, the green is on the left.
