"How many at Bryce? Did they all take their Bryce Eclipse glasses and leave?"
I spoke to Kevin before my program last evening and he said the official head count for Bryce Canyon for eclipse day was just over 10,000. Officials at Kanarraville drove the road between their two exits of I-15, the road to New Harmony and the dirt road that lead past the official observing field counting cars. They put the count at 15,000. My contact at the Cedar visitors bureau said hotels still had rooms available a few days before but filled up by eclipse day by people who just showed up with no reservations. She also said one person made $7000 selling snow cones in Kanarraville. Another, took a risk and ordered 2000 t-shirts. He found the cheapest $2-3 shirt and sold out at $20 a t-shirt. That's $40,000 dollars!!!!! patrick
