I was thinking of the Rexburg area. A friend here at work is headed to Wyoming, since he loves that northwest area as a hiker. August is monsoon season in the west, so I was thinking that staying as windward of the continental divide as possible might be an advantage. Clouds will form passing over the mountains and being on the leeward side might decrease one's chances of clear skies. Of course, the further east you go, the longer the span of totality, so those have to be weighed against each other. My 2 cents.
