According to Seth the event(s) will begin around 8pm and conclude around 4am. Now if we could only guarantee the weather. I'm surprised Siegfried isn't on top of this. :) If memory serves, there was a vigil held late in the night, starting around 2am when Ganymede (or was it Europa) passed in front of Io. A small group of dedicated observers showed up at his house to view the event through the Clark. I suppose now it they showed up, they'd be shot :) Still it was an memorable evening, not only for the fact that we actually saw it, but that it could be predicted, within a second or two of the actual transit. Great memory!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Seth Jarvis" <SJarvis@slco.org> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, January 11, 2015 2:55:25 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Jupiter Observing January 23/24? Is anyone planning to observe/photograph Jupiter and the triple "eclipse" of Callisto, Io and Europa on the night of Jan 23/24?
