Great work Ed! Did you take the images via internet link with the telescopes or did you actually go to Cloudcroft? Clear Skies Don -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Edward Lunt Sent: Saturday, April 08, 2006 8:12 AM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Ed Lunt's Messier Images Dear Friends; Yesterday I completed a personal milestone when I finished processing image 102 of the Messier Cataloger of deep sky objects. I now have a complete "set" of all 110 Messier images, all of which were taken through telescopes located at the RAS Observatory in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. One of the unique aspects of my collection of images (in addition to all of the images being mine), is that I was able to use various telescopes, various filters, and various processing techniques, which has allowed me to acquire several different images of many of the various objects, something that I have not seen in other collections of Messier objects. This project has taken me 27 months to complete and required literally hundreds of hours to image, process, and post these images. You can view images of all 110 Messier objects by going to my Album of Messier Objects at: http://www.edsgalaxy.com The album of Messier objects is the second album and can be accessed by clicking on the second image (M1-the Crab Nebula) that looks like a very colorful mess of spaghetti. The web site for these images is the Utah Astronomy Gallery.
