Kim may have said that in jest but some of us remember one of the last times the world was going to end. It was 10 March 1982 and there was a book out called the Jupiter Effect that predicted on that day the planets would align leading to the end of the world. So how did SLAS react? We held an End of the World star party in the parking lot of the Harmons in Midvale (in its old location). We ended up with the biggest turnout in club history to that time (later bested by the Halley mania a few years later) with the media estimating something like 5,000 people. Quite the zoo. Just ask Siegfried. He even got his picture with the Clark on the front page of the Deseret News. So while weather prospects for a December star party makes me a bit uncomfortable, I'm all for a return to Harmons (in the new location) on "12/21/2012". End of the World, Part 2. Clear skies, patrick
