I was out driving around this afternoon and the cloud cover looked grim, but it was thin enough to always show through to the blue in the straight up position. I new that Mars would be up there so headed to SPOC to look through any available telescope. The crew on the Grimm telescope were kind enough to let about a half dozen people look at Mars, NGC2392(the clown face) and M82 as well a splitting Castor. Brent Johnson bagged M34 between the toe of Perseus and the arm of Andromeda. He had brought his 10 newtonian to try for Messier objects but left when the clouds refused to part. Not a total loss after all. DT
