No worries Larry. You did your "above and beyond" last evening. :) I just fielded another call from the public so I'm going over to speak with those public who don't call first. Actually I've always enjoyed speaking with those that show up on cloudy nights. In part because I feel bad that they went to the trouble of coming out (many think we have some sort of all weather indoor facility like a planetarium). But also because it seems like a perfect teaching moment and a chance to help introduce folks to astronomy. As it happens we're under another big sucker hole at the moment here at Stansbury and there appears to be another approaching from the NW. I don't know if it'll last but if it does I'll open the refractor and give folks a peek at Venus. Clear skies! patrick On 14 Apr 2012, at 17:56, Larry Holmes wrote:
Patrick, I guess I am going to chicken out tonight. I released the operators from their obligation to be there to run the scopes. 73, lh

The weather out here at SPOC at the moment is really quite nice.
But SPOC's Clear Sly Clock does not look all that great for this evening.
