You're part of the Brotherhood, Wayne. The neighborhood is never as quiet as it is early in the morning after a snowfall. Blood coursing through the veins, your breath a steamy cloud in front of your face, the fit feeling it gives you as you push the shovel along, then lift and toss the load aside. The universe above, watching. I tell my neighbors (who are ten years younger than I) that snow-blowers are for the infirm and the extremely aged (no offense intended). My shovel uses no gas, is quiet, doesn't pollute. One day my destiny will rendezvous with a snow-blower, no doubt, but hopefully not for a long, long time. I'm not aging gracefully. I'm being dragged there kicking and screaming. --- Wayne Sumner <wsumner@dsdmail.net> wrote:
Aha!! My wife would never believe me when I told her that there were other human beings that enjoyed shovelling snow out of large driveways! Having grown up in Minnesota, I know a little bit about shovelling snow. I even own a push shovel! And yes, the stars were gorgeous this morning.
