I for one am very sorry to hear this news -- indeed, she will be missed! Back when I was trying (in vain it turns out) to get regular uvaa meetings going in the early 90's, Karen and Deloy routinely drove all the way down from Ogden to attend! For those of you who have not seen my Binocular Astronomy Resource Page on the uvaa website, Karen's compilation of favorite binocular objects tops the list: http://www.uvaa.org/BinocularResources.htm Best wishes and sympathies to Deloy... -Rich --- Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com> wrote:
Dave, thanks for posting that. Karen will surely be missed. I will never forget her and Deloy in years past, and that van just absolutely crammed to bursting with astronomy stuff. She was far too young for her final journey, yet she is now among the stars she loved.
She makes the 10th person in the last 13 months that I know, who has passed-away. Just yesterday we laid my wife's mother to rest.
It has been a terrible year for losing friends and family.

I know that some of you may be friends of the Pierce's. I haven't seen posts yet so I thought I would make sure that you noticed. Karen Pierce passed away on Monday.
