It sure looks like it was designed for the Moonwatch...I had one of Edmund Scientific's that I used as a finderscope on my 10" Cave for a while.
Thanks, Dave, I was pretty sure. I may bid on that little item. BTW, I have 3 of those Edmund "recycled" Moonwatch finders (probably military surplus) and they are still a favorite despite their weight. Over the years I've refinished/restored all of them. One is dark metallic silver, on my 10" f/5.6 all-fiberglass Dob (matches the gelcoat finish on the main scope), one is gloss white, and my favorite is just a polished aluminum finish. That one even has a polished eyepiece, shiny brass. Two of them still have the original pliable rubber eye-guards, thanks to the good people at Armor-All, and Ziplock bags. I bought one of them at Hansen Planetarium back in the early '70's. The others have come my way via means no longer remembered. I built an 8" f/7 OTA in jr. high (1970 or so) using a Coulter mirror, University Optics focuser, and Parks Fiberglass tube, and mounted it on a heavy-duty Astrola mount (1.5" shafting). The finder I bought at the Hansen "book shop" was mounted on it using Jaegers ring mounts. Ah, the memories.
