I got back from an astropedition to Utah's western desert after 1 a.m. today. Wednesday night's prediction was for "mostly clear" and it turned out to be completely clear, but with turbulence in the higher atmosphere; Thursday night's was for "partly cloudy" and I got run out by a fierce windstorm that seemed to signal the approach of much rain. However, the rain may not have materialized. Anyway, I'm having trouble believing the National Weather Service predictions, even though my father was a forecaster. -- Joe --- On Fri, 5/29/09, daniel turner <outwest112@yahoo.com> wrote: From: daniel turner <outwest112@yahoo.com> Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Whether Weather To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Date: Friday, May 29, 2009, 1:49 PM The weather service has upgraded tonight's forecast to "mostly clear". Tomorrow night is still listed as 50% cloudy with 20% chance of rain. Looks like tonight is the night to go out. SLAS has a party at Harmons at 77south and 7th east in Midvale.
